There are many people who complain of hair loss. You may want to find a way to change your hair. Today, developing medicine has offered options to help you in this regard. However, modern medicine is so advanced that you may not be able to master current terminology.

Terms such as hair transplantation with hair plug, hair transplantation, follicular unit extraction are widely used today. In this article, we will share information about the hair plug with you. Hair plugs will investigate the methods used in the past in Turkey.

What is Hair Plug

We no longer use the term “hair plug” in the medical world in Turkey. However, it is still a commonly used term. The hair plug is a small round scalp pierced from the back of your head. Each one contains nearly 18 different bristles. Dr. Shoji Okuda first proposed using a hair plug to treat scar in 1939. It is a transplant method dating back to the 1950s. Dr. Norman Orentreich is the first person to have a hair transplant. These parts are “attached” to the balding area of the scalp in the next stage.

Hair plugs are real hair. There are also people who sometimes confuse it with fake hair. However, hair plugs are created from your own hair. However, sometimes it has a “do” look due to its size and the gaps in between. The hairpin is usually like a row of pansies planted at the entrance to a neighborhood. It is naturally grown, very evenly spaced and arranged. Another analogy is the hair structure of the Barbie doll.

Hair Plugs and Hair Transplant Comparison

It is a fact that today’s hair transplantation is far superior to the hair plug method. Both methods are a method of taking our healthy hair and carrying it to the areas where our hair stops growing. So both methods look alike.

If you are a great person, the hair plug method is not for you in Turkey. This is like traveling abroad with a car. Yes, you get to where you are going, but not fast enough. At the same time your journey ends with a terrible fatigue. We can say the same is true for your hair. You want your hair to grow back, but it is also important for you to look completely natural. You don’t want your hair transplant to be obvious.

That’s why the latest hair transplant method is so revolutionary. It offers you the hair growth you want with an easy and less tiring procedure. Your friends and other people around you will not even notice that you have a hair transplant.

Hair Plugs in Turkey

The hairpin lived its golden years until the first modern hair transplant method was introduced by Dr. Bob Limmer. But one of the things that makes hair plugs have a bad reputation nowadays is that the hair produces fuzzy and unnatural results.

Due to keep the old ways of the past, this method is not used in Turkey. We also attach more importance to modern hair transplantation and we comply with this modernity in our hair transplant center located in Istanbul. We do not use the old method of hair plug method. Instead, we recommend the hair transplant method, which gives you a more natural appearance.

Hair plugs replaced by FUE and FUT

In FUE, the hair follicles on the back of our head in an area covered with hair are taken one by one with the machine. With fine tools and knives, cuts (holes) are created and previously collected hair follicles are placed here. It doesn’t even leave any scars.

Anesthesia is applied with the FUT method. Then, some hair is taken from the back of the head or the side area that is hair. Your doctor then divides the collected hair individually or into small groups. It places it on the balding part as in the FUE method. The difference of the FUT method is that it can move a lot of hair at one time. This means more hair transported for less money. Sometimes there are small scars, but these are not visible because they are under your hair.

Is it Possible to Remove Hair Plugs?

The hair left over from the old method, the hair plug method, can be removed surgically. Many people aim to replace these hair with FUE and FUT method. Some people preferred to stay bald instead of unnatural hair. Therefore, one of the issues that many people wonder about is the hair plug removal method. This is possible with surgery.

I Want Hair But Don’t Want Plugs

You may be disturbed by the unnatural appearance of your hair. However, you are also worried about being bald. We have encountered many patients who experience this condition. One of the best solutions for this is hair transplantation. We would like to say that FUE, FUT and DHI methods are used more. These methods help you get natural hair within 1 year.

The Importance of Looking Natural Hair

What is the most important point of a successful hair transplant? Of course, to get healthy and natural looking hair after the operation. Front hairline is one of the factors that affect the appearance the most.

Hairline measurement starts between the two eyebrows. Average forehead width for the frontal hairline is considered to be 7 cm. However, this value may vary depending on the number of grafts that can be used and the person’s facial structure. The forehead area is marked considering the head structure, age and the amount of grafts. Paying attention to the forehead opening, width, the size of the temples and the starting point of the forehead fractures; The frontal hairline, which will be V-shaped or slightly more oval, is determined, provided that it is not too sharp.

The planting direction and angles of the grafts in the hairline at eye level and in the front are as important as the design of the hairline. The grafts planted in this area cannot be planted in a straight line. In order to have a natural and aesthetic appearance, the hair strands should be lined up in a mixed and natural system. An asymmetrical mess with indentations and protrusions on the front hairline should be captured, resembling the person’s natural hairline.
